Pioneer Golf Co.

For those that grew up in the Edmonton area do you remember Pioneer Meadows Golf Course? For AJ Mark this was where he grew up playing the game..

Sadly it has been since closed and the land used for a housing development but AJ honours the course and the special place it holds in his heart bringing life to the old course using the red barn clubhouse as the inspiration for the Pioneer Golf Co. brand.

Bio:

Even after growing up and working at Pioneer Meadows AJ knew that he wanted to be apart of the golf industry in some fashion. The goal with Pioneer Golf Co. is to provide high quality handmade products for golfers that want to add some serious swag to their game.

Goals for the business?

I am pretty early on in the journey, but I am excited to see where it goes, at this point I just want to produce high quality handmade Headcovers and Accessories at affordable prices.

AJ, why do you love golf?"

This was hard to answer as I kept thinking about how can drive me crazy at times! It can be an escape from your work or personal life. It can be a good excuse to get together with some friends and catch up. I mean what’s not to love about golf?"

What is one thing you’d change about golf?

I think golf is trending in a really good direction right now there has been a shift over the past 5-10 years to start making courses that are designed to be enjoyable for all skill levels and test the really good players decision making. Its nice to see it go away from trying to make a course as hard as possible to challenge the 0.1% of golfers. If anything, I would like to see more short courses to help introduce the game to more juniors and those people that haven’t had the opportunity to play golf in the past.

#GolfLifeAB to me is a community. A group of golfers and golf courses from all over our province that are united as one.
