Explain the name. Why Grip Garage?
I chose the name mainly because I am running it out of my garage. My first business back in Nova Scotia was called Fit Fore the Tee. I thought about reintroducing it. However, I felt like it had too many words. So then I started to research a few shops that are similar to mine. I thought I’d mainly offer regripping services, so I came up with Grip Garage. It had a nice ring to it, and it’s where I do all of my work. In my garage. Or man cave with my simulator!
Goals for the business?
I would love to get to a point where I would only have to teach part time, so I could give my business more time. I am working on so many projects behind the scenes that I think have great potential! I just want to make golfers happy with the services I provide, and know that they’re supporting a passionate golfer with a young family.
What services do you offer?
I offer regripping services of all makes and models. I have developed a great relationship with Golf Pride since starting my business.
Shaft replacement for irons and woods. This is a service I enjoy providing but I can also build a set of clubs.
I can also provide loft/lie bending for irons.
I have also gotten into club stamping and customization with colour. It’s a fun thing to do, to bring golf clubs back to life with new paint or stamping!
Custom ball markers and divot tools with laser engraving.
