Entering its 6th season, the Alberta Golf Tour continues to expand its offerings and grow with the players. After a 5th straight season of doubling participation, President Leah Bathgate-Snethun is optimistic about the upcoming year.

Bathgate-Snethun explains, “The growth we continue to see year after year is very exciting. We have adapted to fill a niche that doesn’t really exist in the industry.

As I speak to new players about why they choose to play, we’ve got both ends of the spectrum. We see people who have played very competitively their whole life who are either looking to practice for upcoming big events, or are still looking to play competitively but with a more laidback feeling.

On the opposite end, we continue to see people who have never played tournament golf before. The laidback atmosphere along with patient and experienced tournament players, who are eager to teach people how to apply the rules of golf makes the AGT the perfect place to learn before these players potentially consider moving on to Provincial or Club Championships.”

Over this past winter, the Alberta Golf Tour expanded into golf trips and brought a group of 16 people to the Waste Management Phoenix Open followed by 4 rounds in 3 days at the Wigwam Resort.

“We look forward to offering this trip again in the future, along with some other popular tourist options.”

The Alberta Golf Tour also held 2 Schedule Release Parties in Calgary and Edmonton on February 24 where attendees got to play a catered round of simulator golf and look at the schedule prior to its official release. There was a lot of enthusiasm around the events.
